Under Outgoing mail, choose between sending through your own SMTP (outgoing mail) server and sending directly from your desktop using RocketSales. Sending through your own SMTP server is recommended for highest deliverability.
Sending through external server
You may want to send through an external mail server for any of the following reasons:
- The highest percentage of messages will be successfully delivered without being inaccurately blocked by spam filters
- Your Internet service provider (ISP) requires you to use their server for anti-spam reasons
- You don't have a fixed IP address with mail server registration (MX record), so some ISPs may block mail from your PC
- You want to retain branding by sending through a company mail server such as mail.company.com
Direct send
Direct send is higher speed, but fewer messages will be successfully delivered. RocketSales' direct send feature is multithreaded, meaning it sends many messages at the same time.
