CSV format details
You must export your data in CSV format, with a
header row to specify the field names. For example:
Email,Name,Company,Phone
john@company1.com,John
Smith,"Acme, Inc.",650-555-1111
mike@company2.com,Mike Jones,Widgets
Corp.,650-555-2222
Most popular programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and
ACT!, can export to CSV format.
Large lists
See Speeding
up importing lists.
International
If your CSV file users record delimiters
other than the standard comma character, e.g. international users,
type the delimiter character in the Delimiter box.
Merge fields
Choose Field from the Insert tab. The fields
shown depend on which table you choose from the List dropdown on the Contacts tab. The fields shown correspond to the
columns of the currently selected table.
The Field button’s submenu
intelligently converts field names so they’re easy to read. For example, a column called ADDRESS_1 would be shown as Address
1 on the submenu.
