Speeding up send

Turn off your antivirus program’s email scanning feature

Turn off email scanning in your antivirus program while the mailing is being sent, or mailing speed will be incredibly slow. Check with your antivirus program’s maker for instructions on how to do this.

Your SMTP server

• Rent a faster outgoing email (SMTP) server. Find a service.
• If sending through an external email server: Click Set Up Accounts on the Send tab. Select your account and click Properties. Make sure the Recipients’ servers slider is set all the way to the right.
• If sending directly from within RocketSales: Click Set Up Accounts on the Send tab. Select your account and click Properties. Make sure the Send acceleration and Recipients’ servers slider are set all the way to the right.
• Make sure both your PC and the SMTP server have plenty of memory and hard disk space and a high-speed Internet connection.

Edit the message

• Don’t embed or attach images. Instead, upload them to a Web server and link to them in the body of the message.
• Don’t attach files on the Send tab
• Turn off duplicate checking. On the Send tab, click the Send button. Click More and check the Allow duplicate email addresses checkbox.
• Send as plain text. On the Send tab, click the Send button. Click More and check the Send plain text only checkbox.
• Turn off tracking. On the Send tab, make sure the Track button isn’t pressed.

The Contacts tab

Turn off sorting. Click the sorted column’s header once or twice on the Contacts tab until the list is no longer sorted.
