Testing on an existing server

You can test RocketSales with a new SMTP server, database and Web server on an existing PC without interfering with your Web site.

Multiple SMTP servers

  1. Click Set Up Accounts on the Send tab
  2. Change SMTP server port to a new number, e.g. 26
  3. Start the SMTP server
  4. Choose Settings on the Send tab and change the SMTP server port to 26 as well.
Tip: This only lets you run multiple SMTP servers by changing the port between RocketSales and the SMTP server. It does not affect ISP port blocking between the SMTP server and email recipients. If your ISP blocks outgoing email via port 25, you will need to send through a different ISP.

Multiple databases

Multiple databases can run at the same time as long as you assign them different database shortcuts (DSNs).
  1. Click Connect on the Contacts tab
  2. Click the Machine Data Source tab
  3. Click the New button
  4. Choose the appropriate driver
  5. Open the new database in RocketSales

Multiple Web servers

  1. Click Set Up Accounts on the Send tab
  2. Select your account and click Properties
  3. Click the Track tab
  4. Change Tracking port to a new number, e.g. 8080
  5. Exit RocketSales Tracking by right-clicking on the icon in the Windows task bar and choosing Exit
  6. Restart it from Start > Programs > Anconia RocketSales Tracking
